Tell us what you tapped and what you saw; a screenshot helps. Please don't send customer details or card numbers. We can't see your records (they live on your phone and in your iCloud), so a screenshot is how we help.

Are you a customer of a shop that uses One Wrench Pro? Your report, quote, invoice and receipt come from your mechanic, and your records are with them. Reply to their text or email, or call the number on the page they sent you.

Getting started

How do I set up my shop?

Open the app and follow the setup: where your data lives, your brand (name, logo, colors, phone, tax rate), your week (working days, first appointment, minutes between jobs), your services and your service area. Every step can be skipped and changed later under More. Then add your first customer, or wait for the first request.

Do I need an account with you?

No. There's no sign-up and no password. For the features that need our relay (report links, quotes, pay links, your request page), the app registers your shop with it in the background, using your shop's public details only. Nothing about your customers is sent to do that.

iCloud and a new phone

Where are my records kept?

On your iPhone, and in your own iCloud when iCloud sync is on (the setup asks; you can change it under More). We don't keep a copy.

I got a new phone. How do I get everything back?
  1. Sign in to the new iPhone with the same Apple ID.
  2. Make sure iCloud is on for the app: Settings, then your name, then iCloud.
  3. Install One Wrench Pro and open it. Your records sync down; with a lot of photos this can take a while on Wi-Fi.

Keep iCloud on for the app. If iCloud is turned off for it or you sign out of your Apple ID, iOS removes the app's copy from that phone (it stays in iCloud). Before changing Apple IDs, make a backup under More, then Export & backup.

My iCloud is full.

Sync pauses until there's room, and the app tells you. Your records stay on the phone in the meantime. Free up iCloud space or upgrade your iCloud plan in Settings, and make a backup under More, then Export & backup.

Connecting Stripe

How do I start taking cards?

In the setup's "Get paid" step, or later under More, tap Connect Stripe. Stripe's own sign-up opens: your business details, identity and the bank account for payouts. It takes about ten minutes. If you already use Stripe, sign in and connect the account you have.

Who holds the money?

Stripe pays out to your bank on your Stripe account's schedule. The account is yours: you see every payment, refund and payout in your Stripe dashboard. Stripe charges its processing rate.On the Free plan, our platform fee of 4% is taken from each card payment; paid plans have no platform fee.

Tap to Pay on iPhone

What do I need?

An iPhone XS or newer on a current iOS, a connected Stripe account, and a passcode on the phone. Tap to Pay on iPhone takes contactless cards, Apple Pay and other digital wallets, with no card reader. It's available in the United States.

How do I take a payment?

Open the invoice and tap Tap to Pay on iPhone. The first time, you accept Apple's Tap to Pay terms. Hand the phone to the customer, or hold it out, and they hold their card or phone near the top of your iPhone. The invoice is marked paid and the receipt is offered right away.

The request page on your website

How do customers send me a request?

On the plans that include it, your shop gets a request page: the customer says what's wrong, where the car is and which days and hours they're home, or marks it urgent. You get it on your phone and confirm a day and an arrival window with one tap. Share the link anywhere: your Google listing, social profiles, the side of the truck.

How do I put the form on my own website?

In the app, open your request page settings and copy the website snippet: one line to paste into your site where the form should appear. If you're not sure how, send that line to whoever manages your website.

Parts suppliers

Which suppliers can I order from?
  • Any store, by hand: type the part, your cost and your price, and snap the receipt. The margin still lands in your books.
  • PartsTech (on the plans with parts ordering): open a free PartsTech account and link the suppliers you already buy from. Then search and order from the job, on the car's VIN, at your own prices.
  • WorldPac (on the plans with parts ordering): if you have a WorldPac account, create an API token in your speedDIAL account and paste it into the app.

Your supplier logins and tokens are kept in your iPhone's Keychain. You order on your own account, at your prices.

Your plan

How do I cancel a paid plan?

A plan you buy in the app is billed by Apple, so you cancel with Apple: on your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then One Wrench Pro, then Cancel Subscription. The plan stays on until the end of the period you paid for, then your shop goes back to Free. Your records stay where they are. For a refund, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I paid for a plan but the app still says Free.

Open More, then Your plan, and tap Restore purchases while you're online. If that doesn't do it, write to us with the date of the purchase.

Deleting your online account

How do I delete what you hold for my shop?

In the app, open More and choose Delete online account. This removes everything our relay holds for your shop right away: your public profile and request page, waiting requests, scheduled emails, and every report, quote and pay link you've sent (they stop opening). Your records on your phone and in your iCloud are not touched. Your Stripe account is yours and stays open; close it from your Stripe dashboard if you want to. If you're on a paid plan, cancel it with Apple as well.

To delete your records too, delete them in the app, then delete the app; to remove the iCloud copy, open Settings, your name, iCloud, and manage the app's storage.

Can I ask you to delete it instead?

Yes. Write to hello@onewrenchpro.com from the email address in your shop's profile and we'll do it and confirm.
